Joseph Dunstan Residence

Three gabled forms among open paddocks in Taupaki. Timber, stone and walnut, warm against the light.

Set among open paddocks in Taupaki, the house is arranged as three gabled forms around a sheltered terrace and pool, opening out to the surrounding land.

A restrained palette of pale brick, black-stained timber and a dark standing-seam roof keeps the outside quiet. Inside, timber-lined gable ceilings, stone and walnut bring warmth, while long runs of glazing keep the fields and the changing light always in view.
